The Social Dilemma: Comparing Diabetic Journeys

It happens. You’re scrolling through Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest and you come across a post of someone who has it all together. And then your inner critic starts talking to you. Suddenly you feel like you’re the worst diabetic, business owner, or human in life.

I’m guilty of it too. But I’m here to tell you that comparing yourself is not the way to live YOUR life. Because it’s yours and no one else’s.

In today’s episode, I share my thoughts on comparison. Because we all do it and sometimes we need that reminder that our walk is as unique as our journey.

KEY POINTS

  • Feeling like you’re doing something wrong because you’re not having the same success
  • Building a business around your journey but you’re not coaching or doing courses
  • Every journey is unique. every lesson is tailored.

I’m Taylor Daniele

PODCAST HOST, STREAMER & MULTI-PASSIONATE entrepreneur

My core belief is that you can carve your own path. Unafraid to stand in the gap, I started Healing In Hindsight™ after noticing that there weren’t many millennials of color that I could connect with. Being of black and thai descent, I was diagnosed at 25 with type 2 diabetes. I found the transition into managing my condition difficult. My hope is to have thoughtful conversations about how anyone living with diabetes can thrive by finding a way to manage that fits them.
